Marta Abelha é professora Auxiliar do Departamento de Educação e Ensino à Distância (DEED), na Universidade Aberta (UAb), Portugal. Doutorada em Didática (2011) Mestre em Gestão Curricular (2005) e Licenciada em Ensino de Biologia e Geologia (2002), pela Universidade de Aveiro, Portugal.

Atualmente faz parte da equipa de investigadores portugueses que integram o projeto internacional intitulado “Transforming Education for Democracy through Aesthetic and Embodied Learning, Responsive Pedagogies and Democracy-as-becoming (AECED)”, funded by the Horizon programme.
Os seus interesses de investigação centram-se na Formação de Professores, Estudos Curriculares, Colaboração Docente e Avaliação em Educação, que são também os temas das suas publicações.

She has participated in national and international research projects, with public funding, in the area of Education. She is currently part of the team of Portuguese researchers who are part of the international project entitled “Transforming Education for Democracy through Aesthetic and Embodied Learning, Responsive Pedagogies and Democracy-as-becoming (AECED)”, funded by the Horizon programme.
Her research interests focus on Teacher Education, Curricular Studies, Teacher Collaboration and Assessment in Education, which are also the topics of her publications.
