Between 8 January and 12 February, the 1st edition of the MOOC “Programming and Robotics in Pre-school and Basic Education” took place, with almost 1,300 registered participants. Coordinated by LE@D researchers, the course is part of the KML II Project, a partnership between the Open University, the University of Minho and the University of Évora.
For five weeks, primary and secondary educators and teachers from all over the country actively participated, sharing knowledge and experiences in the KML II MOOC Community.
The course, based on connectivist and socio-constructivist approaches, promoted collaboration and sharing between participants, resulting in thousands of interactions in the forums, on the Wall and in the Community studios.
Given its success, the coordinating team is studying the possibility of a new edition, with information to be publicised through the KML II Project’s channels. More details about the project and the MOOC can be found at https://www.nonio.uminho.pt/kml2/.
