She is a Training Manager and a trainer accredited by the Scientific and Pedagogical Council of Continuing Education of the Portuguese Ministry of Education. She holds a Degree in Education (Social and Training Pedagogy), a Master in Elearning Pedagogy and a Master in Pedagogical Supervision. She holds a PhD and a Post-doctorate in Distance Education and eLearning. She is a member of scientific committees and has participated in the organization of scientific events. She has participated in several elearning projects, namely as an e-tutor and producer of resources and contents at UAb. She was co-responsible for the implementation of the Wikipedia Education Program in Portugal, namely for the first Portuguese curricular and pedagogical integration of Wikipedia, included in the Wikipedia University Program – Wikimedia Foundation. Her research topics include open education, adult education, Pedagogical Supervision, Educational Technology and Communication, Educational Technologies (eLearning).

Full Professor of Science and Technology Studies at the Arts & Humanities Department, Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC), Spain. He has been the director of the Internet Interdisciplinary Institute and vice-president for research at UOC (2005-2009). He is the director of the Research Group on Open Science and Innovation in the Internet Interdisciplinary Institute. He teaches science and technology studies and research design at the undergraduate degree Program in Humanities and the Master and PhD program on the Information and Knowledge Society. He has published several works on the interaction between scientific and technological development and organizational and social change in areas such as eGovernment, town planning and the Internet. He has led a research project on the scientific and technological content of Wikipedia articles. He is currently doing research on the relationship between science/technology and peer production.
