Summary:
The EL-Gate project is funded by the ALFA III programme of the European Commission.ALFA is a programme of co-operation between Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) of theEuropean Union and Latin America. The objectives of the programme are 1) to improve thequality, relevance and accessibility of Higher Education in Latin America; and 2) to contributeto the process of regional integration in Latin America, fostering progress towards the creationof a joint Higher Education area in the region and exploiting its synergies with the EuropeanUnion.The ALFA programme follows the strategic vision among EU-Latin American andCaribbean countries, as reflected under the EU-LAC Strategic Partnership established in 1999 following the Summit in Rio de Janeiro between Heads of State and Government of the EU andLatin American and Caribbean (LAC) countries.
