The project wants to developed a model for the international team-development for application, utilisation and distribution of OER. Major tasks were a comprehensive study of literature concerning the core topics OER, team development and academic collaboration. Additionally, they worked on the description and analysis of two case studies of important academic organisations concerning OER in Europe: Humanities Work and the Network of Mediterranean Distance Teaching Universities. These have been analysed systematically regarding function, approach and application of OER. Furthermore, the Subject Area conducted several expert interviews on the subject of obstacles and potentials of the application of OER in universities and scientific research. Therefore it was possible to generate a bundle of advices for future work groups containing:

  • Creation of a common sense of teamwork and OER
  • Outlining of quality criteria for the insertion of OER within teamwork
  • Definition of a logical and pedagogic infrastructure for the insertion of OER

On the whole, the project provided an insight into the different forms of utilisation of OER in diverse types of international collaboration. On the background that not only individual learners but increasingly (international) teams use and pass OER, the results of this project show various possibilities to intensify this form of work.
